H D Deve Gowda's Interview - Why he Refused to Support BJP!

A couple of days before, JD (S) Leader, Deve Gowda refused to support BJP led Government and he clarified these are the reason's to betray the promise! now it is the duty of the JD(S) leader to clarify his stand! All politicians compromised just for the sake of their selfish politics?

Yashwant Sinha came to Bangalore and wanted a one-on-one discussion with me. Our meeting went on till 1-30 a.m. I posed several questions to him. First, why did not the national leadership of the BJP take a position against the BMIC?
Two, why did not the national leadership condemn the killing of two Muslims in Mangalore during the riots? Three, when a charge of bribery of Rs.150 crore was made against the Chief Minister, and a BJP MLA filed a [public interest litigation] PIL in the Supreme Court, why did the national leadership keep quiet? When Karunanidhi’s daughter’s house was attacked and two innocents burnt alive, what did the national leaders have to say? When the Chief Minister himself was accused by a fellow minister of abetment in a murder case, why did not the national leadership or Yediyurappa dismiss him? No answer.
Without convincing answers for these issues, power cannot be transferred, I said. In Kashmir, power transfer took three months. The issue cannot be forced through the media. It has to be thrashed out in the presence of Central and State leaders.
Sinha finally asked me if I would join the NDA and support L.K. Advani’s candidature for Prime Minister. I told him I would neither join the NDA nor the UPA.
I promised to go on October 4 to Delhi to thrash the issue out. But Sinha stayed here for three days. On October 2, all the Ministers sent their resignations to the Chief Minister, and dictated that he should hand in his resignation by six in the evening.
The action taken by Kumaraswamy will be judged by the people in the elections. The question now of compromising on secularism is ruled out in my life.

JD (S) Leader to Clarify their Stand!

When Janata Dal leaders aligned with BJP in the centre in the previous Government led by Vajpayee, it is Deve Gowda who strongly objected to align with BJP! and opposing the alignment, he formed his own break way group called JD(Secular)! Now the same leaders aligned with BJP to support the Government! it is the duty of these leaders to clarify their earlier stand and the situations which made them to align! what about earlier allegations on BJP! The previous statements of JDS leaders are given below :-

The Janata Dal (Secular) Political Affairs Committee, at its meeting here on Saturday, adopted a resolution accusing the Sangh Parivar outfits of trying to “turn Karnataka into a Hindutva laboratory on the lines of Gujarat.”

The Chief Minister also crushed with an iron hand attempts by the BJP’s sister concerns in the Sangh Parivar to whip up communal frenzy in the state by raking up issues like Dattapeetha. Though the coalition was a State-level arrangement, the JD (S) national president himself personally wrote to the BJP top brass drawing their attention to the attempts by the BJP and Sangh Parivar elements to vitiate the communal atmosphere in the State. However, the senior BJP leaders did not even show the basic courtesy to respond to the communication.

However, defying all norms of coalition dharma, a senior BJP leader and Minister in the state government filed a First Information Report against the Chief Minister charging him with murder conspiracy late last month, which was unheard of in the parliamentary system of democracy anywhere in the world. Adding to the insult was the endorsement given to the Minister’s action by the State BJP president. What’s more, even the party’s national leadership, which has been reminding the JD (S) in the most humiliating manner through media during the last 20 months on the transfer of power, did not utter a word of condemnation against the Minister’s action. Apparently, the BJP silence was motivated by extraneous factors and did not betray any effort to save the coalition or have friendly relations with the coalition partner.

BANGALORE: The former Chief Minister, H.D. Kumaraswamy, has said that he firmly rejected a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) attempt to rework a fresh agreement with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
This would have paved the way for him to enjoy an extended term of three months as Chief Minister and BJP leader Yediyurappa becoming Chief Minister for the remaining term of 17 months.
In a talk with The Hindu here on Tuesday, Mr. Kumaraswamy said, “I rejected the offer outright since it would be against the decision of the Political Affairs Committee of the JD (S) and against the wishes of my father and former Prime Minister, H.D. Deve Gowda. A group of RSS leaders met me at a guesthouse late on Sunday.”
He said this was the backdrop for all the confusion that prevailed on Monday prior to “my tendering my resignation to Governor Rameshwar Thakur. A section of the JD(S) legislators demanded that I should accept the offer since they did not want elections.”
After this attempt on Sunday night by the RSS, a section of the BJP leaders discussed the proposal with the former Transport Minister, N. Cheluvarayaswamy, on Monday obviously in the belief that they could win over the support of most of the JD (S) legislators, Mr. Kumaraswamy said.
Mr. Cheluvarayaswamy spoke to Mr. Yediyurappa and thereafter the latter flew to Bangalore and the two, along with legislators from both sides, participated in the discussions. “Irrespective of all the pressure, I said a firm ‘no’,” Mr. Kumaraswamy said.
He denied that he had carried two letters to the Governor — one of his resignation and the other extending support to the BJP. “The BJP should also know that it had not done its home work correctly. Having submitted in writing to the Governor that the party legislators had withdrawn support to the JD(S) and that they want immediate elections, they should have written another letter to the Governor stating that they were confident of forming a government. Nothing of that kind was done and a group of leaders merely attempted to work out a solution.”
After submitting the resignation letter to the Governor, they exchanged pleasantries and he walked out. There was no further discussion, Mr. Kumaraswamy said.

Govindacharya demands dismissal of Top BJP leaders from Party!

BJP ideologue Govindacharya has said if the saffron party wants to prove it is a party with a difference then it must "expel" all its top leaders including Atal Behari Vajpayee and L K Advani on the Ram Sethu issue since the decision to destroy the mythological bridge was taken by the NDA government.
Govindacharya, the former general secretary of BJP and founder of 'Bharat Vikash Samaj, said the decision to destroy the historic bridge and construct a canal was actually taken by the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre and the present UPA government is just trying to execute the same.
He said the BJP is engaged in a double speak on the issue by projecting itself as a saviour of the bridge, while the "actual sin was performed by them only."
The then BJP minister Vijay Goel had mooted the idea to destroy the Setu and then the Shipping ministry under the BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha had finally approved the project and sent the same to the Cabinet for its approval, he said and asked "So how can they disown the responsibility now?
He said Ram is not only the centre of faith for Hindus but also a part of Indian culture and ethos.
Govindacharya said the whole of BJP leadership including the former prime minister and deputy prime minister is engaged in double speak on the issue so to keep the image of the party intact.
"As a party with a difference it must expel all the top leaders of the party including Vajpayee and Advani from its primary membership who were part of the erstwhile NDA government," he added.
